"Friends don't let friends drink Starbucks."- The barista's tip cup, at Stella's (my favourite Eurostyle cafe)
After the initial trauma of landing in a self-styled city with no sparkling skyline and an airport with only one baggage conveyor belt, you start to appreciate Ithaca's little quirks that make it kinda special. It's the gorge that used to power all of Cornell's electric lights, the local protests when Walmart opened, it's college kids sliding down treacherously steep streets on skis or dining trays after school closes. I'm so not over cabin fever and can't wait for Cancun and NYC, but this place is starting to grow on me.
Or maybe it's because it's no longer hell-freezes-over cold!
