on a whim, we rode the subway past hollywood and ended up at universal city/universal studios! this is a terrible photo but it'll have to do because all the tourists were jostling to take photos :/ universal city was properly touristy and the theme park was, uh, not free.
outside mann's chinese theater, where celebrities cast their hand/footprints in cement to be immortalised. whoopi goldberg made an impression with her braids too!
it should've been obvious to me, but it wasn't, at least not until we hiked downtown to see the famous staples center (home to the lakers, the kings and the clippers - we were caught in a people-jam there, apparently the clippers had just played). who'dve thought it was named after an office supplies store?

by project spain, because cw just added another city to our itinerary.
by spring break, which strikes me as particularly sad because 1. spring break is like six weeks away and 2. chronic indecision -> failure to get lower prices.
