Theater Row just outside Times Square. I heart the Big Apple!

Me with freezing West Coast-ers Jane and Wang Ning, at Kenka (St Mark's just outside Soho, GO it has GREAT Japanese food). Courtesy of Will's candid camera.
Okay stupid Blogger just ate up my photomontage of New York City so I am in a bad mood.
After NYC Winter Break, I totally deserve a T-shirt that says "I survived the MTA strike 2005". I don't know how the New Yorkers put up with this on a regular (meaning more than once in a lifetime) basis. The subway's cool (a gritty kinda cool), and literally gets you everywhere. When the trains don't run, the city grinds to a halt. Sort of like ancient Egypt when the Nile has a drought. Other than that, this place has COOL splashed all over it. The Met is cool. Grand Central is cool. Huge billboards in Soho are cool. Neon signs in Times Square are cool. Toys R Us (on the ferris wheel with Jane) is cool. Chinatown (which should really be called Little Canton or similar) is cool. Little Italian diners are cool, especially if you just know they're first-generation because they still cheer loudly for their favourite Serie A teams.

christina ' the sunflower is mine, in a way - says:
she was probably thinking of an euphemism for "fools around too much in class and laughs incessantly and inappropriately"
zhuang // two sleepy people by dawn's early light ; too much in love to say goodnight . says:
that must not be too far from the truth
ZH is just about as funny as this MSN conversation makes him out to be, which is slap-your-forehead-or-strangle-him hilarious. Or, he is really just way too profound for me, and he should be permanent faculty in Oxbridge hobnobbing with Great Minds of similar intellect and I, stagnating in America. But here's to one-third of the reason why I wish I were in Oxford.
The SL Edition, as promised to SL on the phone today, will come soon, and will be followed by the Cat version, as soon as I get them online!

HAPPY NEW YEAR (:Okay so I'm a day late, but what does it matter?
QOTD from E, on change:
too many new shops i don't recognize
that's why i stop bothering to learn the new crap here
if they can change in a measly 4 months
they can certainly do alot more damage in 4 yearsES in da House rocked, literally. Glass cabinet doors vibrating because of assorted DJs / drummer-boy ZH's music :P Such is the value of an American education - ES can plan parties!
I'm in no state of mind for contemplative reflections on 2005 right now, but like someone said, much has happened. I'll leave it at that because thinking too much is overrated. But much love as always to my wahchong fahmily, the London crew (of whom I see too little), Cornellians galore, Oxbridge (Word of the day: Oxonian) people (pwn exams!) and everyone else!
With that, I leave you with some food for thought by the singularly hilarious but always lovely SL, who wanted to douse sotong balls in alcohol: "
Vodka is like chilli sauce. It goes with everything."
