An Ode To Zhuang:

"essay crisis. why do i always have essay crises?! - especially when i'm conscientiously doing my work?!"

For once I feel your pain, and (temporarily) take back all mean snipes about your alleged flippance re: class last year (=

ACADEMIC CRISIS MANAGEMENT 101: TERM PAPERS / MIDTERMS / ESSAYS /QUIZ HELL WEEK. DND UNTIL FOREVER!

Raking leaves with the Singaporeans in the Cornell Plantations! Thankfully relieved from my awful weeding job during which Galina and I unearthed 5 earthworms EWWWWW.

"I can tell you that (the recent spell of good warm weather in November) is all thanks to the Class of 2009. 'Cos we're so cool, and we bring good luck."
- Puerto Rican hallmate Milly, while crossing the gorge to French class (:

Something for Mel although ironically she can't read it from China -
Beijing rushes to build world-class universities
The Beida Dean's talk was rather, uh, uninteresting, and has confirmed that Christina will not be a CAPS (China & Asia-Pacific Studies) major come Spring 2006. A year in Washington and Peking University is enticing (save for cringeworthy Beijing bathrooms), but.

Vermont, which was gorgeous during fall break. People there have maple syrup in their veins, and the prettiest state parks, and the most annoying corn mazes, and the most awesome barnyard golf-courses that double up as hockey obstacle courses to a bunch of very bored freshmen.

A BRIEF RESPITE FROM THE SHITTY WEATHER THAT IS ITHACA:

It was First-Year Family Weekend. The Sun's theory that Ithacan weather is one big university conspiracy - that the weather is controlled, Avenger-style by the university administration - was given a boost by the sudden appearance of blue skies and sunshine. For one weekend, it was August all over again.
The sprawling Dickson courtyard from one of my windows - the wire gauze is to keep squirrels out hahaha.

I heart B&J. Souvenir from factory tour in Vermont!

My lovely plush Vermont teddy bear, who, while being inanimate and immobile, can snowboard! He even has all the snow gear - and I have to wait for Spring semester to hit Greek Peak. Check out: http://www.vermontteddybear.com!

The view from my other window. Who could believe that November is two days away?

Love to the Oxonians, have fun in Wales!

Happy birthday Sheryl!

Zorro is a hilarious movie, although I'm not entirely sure it was meant to be a bona-fide comedy (= If you thought ticket prices in Singapore were high, Zorro set me back an amazing $8.75! Watching Antonio Banderas and Catherine Zeta-Jones onscreen is more expensive than watching Third Eye Blind / Lifehouse / Whoopi Goldberg LIVE on campus!
