I highly recommend Tim O'Brien's
The Things They Carried to all you soppy sentimentalists out there! It's required reading for my GOVT294 class, and although I probably won't finish it before the quiz next Tuesday, er, I'll try to finish reading it before the end of the semester :P Along with Shloke's
Five People You Meet in Heaven (which people here are aghast I haven't read).
Sighh Sarah's in Toronto for the weekend and the Mechies are playing PAINTBALL, and I'm stuck on campus frickin' studying! What happened to engineers having no life?
To Chim, if she reads this: WE CRASHED A FRAT PARTY FRIDAY NIGHT! Get your fix quick and get initiated into the Asian(-American) diaspora! And I hate humanities classes SO MUCH BLOODY READING! I can't believe I said that.
To Johnny: No it wasn't that hot :P
To Zhuang and Pet: You'd have loved the music(: I did!
To Zhuang: We have a Writing Seminar on Nabokov's
Lolita, which I could only explain as "Russian soft-porn" to my hitherto-blissfully-unaware friends. For some reason I remembered you. Photos are currently nonexistent because my camera battery is flat. I apologise.
To anyone else: We have Writing Seminars on Harry Potter and the
Da Vinci Code too! Isn't that so cool? And our Hotel School rocks!

Hurricane Katrina just rained on our day.
Good: Grass in Cornell finally showing some sign of turning green.
Bad: Aside from mounting casualties (c.f. CNN), Katrina seems to have stolen Yonglin's printer- probably comeuppance for declaring that he "wanted to see a real hurricane".
Hmm Katrina is a David Tao song!
Mugging for AP CHINESE next semester is looking increasingly attractive.
