Happy CNY!
15 people (one-five, not, as Chengwei likes to think, fifteen people) come on Friday night!
Met Lynette and YL and Junwan at Orchard! Happy happy (: Will drag my dropsy/alcoholic friends
Jo and Zhuang Hui down to Indochine one day!
Lynette only gets to wear colours (other than black and white) on dress-down Fridays at Drew, so I will never complain about office dress codes again, even if US tax people are happily told to wear jeans whenever they please (mutters).
Hwei called Frodo Frodo to his face, and even though she's blogged about it already I have to mention it cos it's so funny, and Hwei if you read this we at the pale green wall all love you cos you entertain us tons!
I hate photocopiers, they like to jam themselves up with paper only when I want to print something. I can never fix the stupid thing without getting inky fingers, after which I can't eat in the office ): The photocopier in question also spews out sheets of blank paper whenever it feels like it (!!!)
Tinky Tinky I miss you tons one day we have to go out and stuff ourselves silly at a sushi buffet!
I love watching
Desperate Housewives!
Have to go to work on Friday which is absolutely yucky, especially because I cancelled my leave! Add that to French at night and having to meet 15 only at the unearthly hour of ten pm (if the club rats aren't off to Zouk or somewhere already), ya, sucky. My managers gave me this weird look when I asked to cancel my leave, a kinda are-you-nuts-got-leave-already-then-tell-me-you-don't-want look. And Frodo (being don't care-ish cos he was leaving anyways) said, "Don't care la, go for leave anyway" which I was highly tempted to do, but there is this little thing called
integrity which I have learnt much about since I started working, so.
Chere Estelle: It's e-n-c-u-l-e (the last e with an upwards accent), verb is
enculer- French regular. More French vulgarities/lewd Parisian remarks available on demand (:
Actually working is pretty okay, at least for now when we are still (relatively) young naive and inexperienced. And at the green wall (the ulu-est end of the office) we are 5 very happy and noisy interns/temps (I just learnt from Laura that there
is a difference here), never hungry cos Xuanxuan and Yingchun always have food, and at lunch there's Subway with Van and Dalvin or the cheap-and-good Amoy Street! Downside is that Xuan's senior has threatened to wring my neck (proving my point that he is mean), and that
's payroll has arrived (cue horror flick music) so there is so much work to do and no more MSN7.
Drummed home by the fact that my "new senior" works about 10X faster than me; every time I go over to his table to get payroll slips for tax comps the pile's reduced by half before I get there. Not sure if is good thing or bad thing.
Sheryl! Haha here's to late-night/early-morning long phone conversations that are barely coherent and more laughs and rubbish than any intellectual commonsense which we can all save for, uh, never (:
