Gee. I'm not blogging about funny stuff anymore. Okie here goes. Follow-up to The Saga of General Wu and the Great Wall. Turns out that I was -a little- wrong:P Before ZH starts going "I-told-you-it-was-a-coincidence", lemme explain. To cut a long story short, General Wu lusts after this particularly pretty concubine of his, called Chen Yuanyuan, who gets stolen by some Chinese rebel leader. Because General Wu lusts after Chen Yuanyuan so much, he opens the gates to the Manchus in the hope that these Manchus will be grateful and return his beloved Yuanyuan to him:) No more Ming dynasty.

Charlene and I rock:):) in any case, we're better than, erm, Weixiang and Xiaofeng, who had us in paroxysms of laughter (SAT word! Means "Pet's Daily Dose") this morning;)
Laments of a girl from RGS was a terrible disappointment, not least because Jo and I were expecting some vigorous Raffles-bashing from a bitter columnist who probably couldn't make it thirty years ago and would enjoy getting her own back now.
Not so.
The columnist, an ex-Rafflesian, a perfectly productive, law-abiding citizen, thinks RG girls are assertive, stroppy, over-confident, arrogant, less marriageable feminists who scare men away! *aghast*

Fortunately or unfortunately, all more or less true. Isn't it a tragedy when you're forced to agree with an article that's supposed to be slamming your alma mater? It's quite sad that she regrets going there. I, for one, don't, and I know (or think) that my ex-classmates and Jean, Pet, Fuzzy, Jo, Emilyn, etc. would do it all over again if they had the chance. Right? I doubt any of us went there to become gentle, domesticated women who marry well. I don't think it's a priority of any student today to go to school to find a husband. Puh-leese. In any case I'm happy with what RG has done for me, just like anyone else who's proud of their alma mater (haha Sheryl being a really good example:). It's sad that Rafflesians in general are seen as arrogant assholes, but I hope that's just a myth and we've done enough to debunk it. >.< I remember Chengwei saying that I wasn't a typical RG girl as she imagined RG girls to be, and hopefully that's what she means-- debunking the myth of the yucky RG girl :)
