Dumdeedum. Ten minutes into National Day... Celebrations were okay I guess... Much better than I'd expected, 'cos everyone who decided not to pon was pretty on about singing songs and cheering for the performers and stuff. Haha everything except doing the FunDance, which I have to admit was a pretty ingenious idea from Johnny or me (can't remember) to take up time. And after all that we still ended at 9.30=)
Ohwell. Was watching the school sing National Day songs from the hall gallery (bird's eye view:) and thinking: "Hmm. How come everyone gets so patriotic when the songs come on?" Decided that everyone's enthusiasm about the concert (no matter what my classmates tell me) is just the whole idea of watching your friends up there, cheering them and having fun. Not being a patriot. Okay maybe for a few seconds. I'm not saying that's bad or anything, because I feel exactly the same way. In any case it's over and I don't have to stay back for lousy rehearsals anymore=)=)
Congrats to Mel and CW... Have got all my friends to come to MAF and watch ya;)
Turned down Sheryl's invite to the PL funfair to *gasp* go back to RGS and meet my ex-classmates and teachers. Don't know what's so unbelievable about that-- Met Xiaofeng at the bus stop and he seemed to think that him being invited to an SJI Speech Day to give a speech was a more plausible idea >.<
Anyways after stoning in the canteen for a good half hour, talking to Lynette and Hwying, laughing at Pet's mistaking Peiying for Clar and Peiying's lousy attempts to photograph a very unphotogenic Chim, finally met Clar Lijia and Lyd=) Good to see 'em all again. Am so glad we still keep in touch! And I miss the Far East chicken rice too:)
Yeah so we hung out outside the air-conditioned HOD room with Mrs Prama obliging to hold the door open for us because we weren't allowed in>.< Talked to Ms Tan, Mrs Lee, Ms Hoo and Ms Yeo.
Lydia: "I want to cut my hair short. I want to look stupid. [Ms Tan comes] Oh, Ms Tan! I want to get a haircut like yours!"
Me: "I thought you wanted to look stupid."
Lyd: "Yea, that's why I want-- " [realises faux pas and squeals while Ms Tan glares threateningly at her]

Pet's Blog for er- article[s] on suanning=)
My two cents' worth. I think it's the kinda thing that you never really notice until someone else points it out to you. Now my classmates keep talking about it! Sometimes I think it's really quite sad that we suan each other like we have nothing better to do, which is true;) it's like... deriving fun from someone else looking stupid. Quite mean leh=) But it's funny most of the time!:):):)
But everything comes with a limit, and part of being good friends with a person is to know when to stop 'cos you might really piss him/her off. Dunno why I commented on this since I never really blog about serious things.
But anyways I think suanning other people is ok as long as you're not crossing any lines or majorly offending other people. After all, it does -really- bring alot of fun, laughter, peace (not really), and joy to my beloved A15;) And to anyone who's on the verge of flaring up- we don't mean it! Any of it. We all love you.
Really;)
Lovely slack day today. Barnard cancelled econs because he had to make a trip to Chinese High to talk about the Through-Train. And Miles very kindly pushed history forward:) Which means I ended a 3.40 day at 12 noon! Spent lunchtime hanging around Golden Rooster 'cos I had to go back for LD meeting and FacComm meeting tho:/
National Day rehearsal. Augh. Have to speak Chinese and try not to sound like an idiot. Geez:( And learn FunDance (...) I wonder how I got myself into this! But emceeing an event is quite fun lah=)
Alex: You have my sympathies.
Me: Don't. We asked for it.
